I love the Government House for its greenery, the building itself and access to the River Valley. There is not a bad spot at the Government House. I’ve done many photo sessions at Government House and everyone is always impressed with the location. My favourite time to go is late spring and early fall. There is tons of parking so you can bring the whole gang; do keep in mind during peak wedding Saturdays, you’ll most likely have to wait for your turn on the stairs. Here is the address!
Being close by to Government House, you can quickly drive over to Alexander Circle to do family/bridal portraits. I think it gives the best lighting and some of the most gorgeous backgrounds for portraits. It is in a residential neighbourhood so parking could be sparse but I think it’s so worth it especially with the gorgeous lighting peaking through the trees. Here is the address!
If you want the feeling of European-inspired deco, look at Manchester Square in Edmonton! I came across Manchester Square while I was driving home one day and I immediately became obsessed with Manchester Square; short of flying to Europe, we don’t have buildings that look Euro-inspired so I was pleased to find this location. I love going during the evening; it has some beautiful LED lights and patio lights too. Here is the address!
When a client doesn’t know what kind of location they want for their photos, I usually recommend the Muttart Conservatory – it’s beautiful year round, has access to the River Valley and it’s a great mix of nature and urban vibes. I do recommend (during peak season!) that you have enough time to do your wedding portraits; you don’t want to be rushing from portraits to the reception. Here is the address!
With tons of beautiful places in downtown Edmonton, you can do the parkade at 10231 103 St NW, Edmonton, AB. I love going to this parkade during Golden Hour; the light is gorgeous and it’s simply chefs kiss! 🧑🍳💋 I have done photos during golden hour and once while it was raining. If you’re gonna have rain during your wedding day, make sure to bring towels; you will start freezing. And it’s not fun.
I hope you love these Edmonton locations for your best wedding portraits for your special day!👰🤵If you would like to see more of my wedding portfolio, you check my link right here!
